So i have created a masonry wall (exterior masonry, airspace, rigid insulation, steel structure backup) that is sloped in section by building a mass and applying the wall by face. Now that the walls are all built, i am trying to separate the structure from the exterior finish, so that when it interfaces with Revit structure there won’t be an... [Read more]

Do you have coordination views in your Revit model? Do you cut sections or elevations or details in that view expressly for coordination issues and not intended to be part of your set? Want to prevent those callouts from polluting the rest of your views? Remember to set the Coordination view Scale to be higher than the bulk of your project views before... [Read more]

I have 5 parameters setup. 3 of those parameters are constants. One of them multiplies the 3 constant parameters together. The last parameter divides the afore mentioned parameter by a constant. The parameter that divides throws an error. All constants are "Length" as are the parameters that perform multiplication and division. The parameter... [Read more]

Here is a JTB FlexReport database compression tip. This is from JTBFlexReport.NET.mdb database with real data. If you compress/compact the database it goes down a bit in size. I used Microsoft Access for this. Make a backup first and don’t delete it until you are sure the reports and everything works with the compacted one. If I use JTB FlexReport... [Read more]

With MicroStation V8i now available, it’s time for an update to the Global user Wish List hosted here on EatyourCAD.com. Bentley has been making a lot of ground with recent versions of MicroStation with regard to these issues, and it’s thanks to the informal user sessions at the BE conferences these have been discussed. Thanks to Chris Bober, Gino,... [Read more]
