I get the feeling that it's head office in France that doesn't want SolidWorks doing the importing from its big iron Catia software.

As digitizing tablets go, it is small, but it works with the included stylus as well as multi-touch finger presses and swishes. I dunno if the multi-touch works with SpaceClaim.

Engaget notes that while stylus-use suffers from the absolute positioning native to tablets (rather than the relative positioning with which mouse users are familiar), you can switch it to mouse mode.

…gestural interfaces, which would, for example, allow computer users to drag windows around a screen simply by pointing at them and moving their fingers, or to rotate a virtual object through three dimensions with a flick of the wrist. 

Gestures would certainly solve one problems created by touch screens (greasy glass) but not the other one, tired arms.

It's not Ansys itself who is being investigated, but deal advisers and traders who may have shared confidential information to profit from the takeovers.

The investigations are part of an effort to better understand how people meet and communicate with one another — and swap information — among banks and Wall Street trading floors.

Before the rumours get started out there, thought I'd set the record straight that Aftercad has started licensing discussions with a number of entities for its Live 3D Platform.

As part of that effort, yes, there have been some folks who have [been given] a polite but pointed reminder that [our technology] is Patent Pending, and they may want to license now to avoid injunction and damages later in Canada and Europe.

No, we are not suing anyone (yet), but there is some loud wailing and gnashing of teeth out there…  

The company's software displays 3D models and data for collaboration in Web browsers using AJAX. Interesting is the list of countries left out of his list, because AfterCAD got a patent pending in the USA last September.
